What is Coronavirus?
• Coronavirus, or COVID-19, is a respiratory disease caused by SARS-COV-2. The virus mainly spreads from person to person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks.
How do you prevent Coronavirus?
• The best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to the virus
• The CDC recommends the following everyday tasks to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus:
o Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
o Wear a mask
o Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
o Avoid close contact with people who are sick
o Stay home when you are sick
o Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
o Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
o Do not share personal items
What are the symptoms of Coronavirus?
• While some people who have Coronavirus experience no symptoms, many of the symptoms of Coronavirus are similar to other respiratory illnesses, like:
o Cough
o Shortness of breath
o Fever
o Headache
o Sore throat
o Runny nose
What should I do if a Crewmember is sick?
• All Crew should follow the Raising Cane's attendance policy and stay home until they feel better
• All Crew should take the wellness survey and indicate any symptoms
• All Crew are encouraged to see a doctor and/or get evaluated, as soon as possible
What should I do if a Crewmember is healthy, but scared to come into work because of Coronavirus?
• Keep in mind that you can only get Coronavirus from others that are sick, and that risk of exposure is low. If you are healthy, we are following our attendance policy and expect all healthy Crew to work their shifts.
• If any accommodations are needed, please contact the Crew Hotline: 1-844-416-4144
What if a Customer asks about Coronavirus in my Restaurant?
• Let the Customer know that you'll have a Manager address their question and be with them shortly. Then, go get the Manager on Duty.
What if a Customer raises a concern that they believe me or a fellow Crewmember is sick?
• Thank the Customer for sharing their opinion and have a Manager check with the Crewmember immediately. The Manager will send them home if they are sick.
